Doug Davis and his gorgeous wife Chantelle are two such people. Beautiful on the outside…obviously…but, even more beautiful on the inside. I enjoyed every minute photographing their maternity session. They are as in love as two people could be…and funny…so dang funny! They’re sweet baby is due any day…and although I’m a little sad that I won’t get to photograph their newborn session due to their move to Chicago (Doug pitches for the Chicago Cubs)…I’m excited to meet Baby D when they return during the off season.

Chantelle…you glow. Truly.

This is just a quick note to let you know that there is a last minute spot available for this weekend’s Focus Workshop. April 15th and 16th in Scottsdale, AZ. There was a cancelation due to a family emergency. This spot is open to local photographers as well. You can register online through the Focus Workshop website.

And his beautiful mom and handsome daddy are so very excited! It’s no secret that we are all baseball fans over here at Casa Bradshaw…so it’s always extra fun for me when I get to do sessions for baseball players and their families. Miguel Montero is a catcher for the AZ Diamondbacks…and I have a special fondness for catchers since my brother Tommy was also a catcher. This maternity session was so much fun to do…so many creative ideas that she had…soooo much variety…and seriously…two of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with. I had so much fun with you both…and I can’t wait to meet Angel in a few weeks!!!

I *love*love*love* that last shot…almost makes me wish I were pregnant again…

This lovely momma and daddy to be wanted to do their maternity session outdoors…in a desert organic environment…so we headed over to the Desert Botanical Gardens to find the perfect backdrop for their vision. We were probably only 3 of about 10 people there…which made for a great session without having to work around crowds. And…even though the temperature was around 110 that day…she was just glowing with pregnant beauty and didn’t seem phased by the heat. I’ve done other sessions at the DBG, but this was probably my favorite since we had the place mostly to ourselves. C – you are beautiful…and I can’t wait to photograph your precious newborn baby girl next month!

Who knew that the desert could be so beautiful! I hate AZ a little less after this session. LOL!

I have always been one of those women who gets pregnant everywhere…not just the belly. My pregnant hormones stretch so far and wide that I usually end up looking like a very close relative of Santa near the end. But, for whatever reason…it seems that all of the pregnant moms that I get to photograph always have the most perfectly gorgeous…teeny tiny…bellies. C – you are stunning…both with and without the pregnancy glow…and I am so excited to meet the newest little member of your beautiful next week!

T – You are beautiful inside and out…and I’m so looking forward to meeting your littlest blessing in a few short weeks!

Since my last post I have received so many incredibly thoughtful emails and phone calls…it’s been humbling to say the least. I am amazed at the wonderful community of photographers that I am blessed to be a part of…and how easily we can connect with and relate to one another in the midst of all the different seasons that we go through both personally and professionally as artists. Many of you emailed me privately to share your own struggles and I am so grateful for your wide open hearts and your desire to never be satisfied with the status quo of this industry. I’m so excited for the changes that are on the horizon for my business (artistic changes, business changes, and personal changes)…I’m excited to grow…to never stop learning…ever…and to continue to fight my way out of every creative rut that threatens to suck my joy out of the BEST job in the entire world! I sincerely hope the same for you all. As photographers…we have such an amazing opportunity to express our hearts and our perspectives through our work on a daily basis…that is a GIFT. We have the ability to create…to envision…to make the mundane things of this world beautiful…and to capture moments in time from our own unique perspectives…a GIFT indeed. So…today…I am thankful for all of you who shared your hearts with me…for all of you who offered encouragement as I’m clawing my way out of my creative funk…and for the many offers from local photographers and artists to buy me lunch! Goodness you are a sweet bunch of people! If I took you all up on it I’d have to spend the rest of my life chained to the elliptical machine! If I haven’t responded personally to your email just yet…bear with me. I’m working on it! And…if you offered to take me to lunch…you’ve got a date! For real. I love food. Especially guacamole.
